But Why?

The pain in their eyes tore through every fibre of my being.”Why them Lord?”was all my mind could process. Our leaders elect were out here singing on how much they’d help all those in need, they’d open up orphanages, how they’d play the part and be the salvation of those in need.

Theirs were but empty promises. Two years into office and the very mud they said they’d root out is still washing our faces. Two years into office and the very projects they promised they’d launch are still but words. Two years into office and we still struggling through muddy roads. Two years into office and we still going to muddy classrooms. Two years into office and we’ve never seen our promise givers again.

We still wallowing in poverty,we still moving around with degrees despite major promises on internships.

We still hoping and praying that our promise issuers are still working through pathways of ascertaining fulfilment of their promises.

“Ni kubaya”they said. And for a fact “ni kubaya”.

The cost of living has hicked more than ever seen. The little we getting is getting taxed to the last coin.We are hanging by a thread because the fathers said we shouldn’t lose hope so we still hope for a better tomorrow.

For Hope is all we got.
